Administers internal and hosted database management systems; derives physical database designs, develops logical data models, creates physical databases, and creates data services for displaying, manipulating, and analyzing data. Manage and maintain databases, oversees the development and maintenance of data standards; serves as key stakeholder manager for internal data consumers. The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina invites nominations and applications for the recently endowed Innovation Chair affiliated with the Center for Economic Excellence in the Hydrogen Economy. We are seeking leading scholars in areas relating to commercialization, intellectual property, entrepreneurship and new ventures, and innovation. The position requires both impressive scholarly credentials and significant applied expertise. The Innovation Chair was established as part of the South Carolina SmartState Program. This program authorizes use of state funds provided by the South Carolina Education Lottery (when matched by private giving) to create Centers of Economic Excellence that will advance the South Carolina economy. To date, over fifteen such centers have been created at the University of South Carolina. The Center of Economic Excellence for the Hydrogen Economy was created with the support of Fluor Corporation and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. It will support both the Innovation Chair in the Darla Moore School of Business and the Discovery Chair in the College of Engineering and Computing. The Innovation Chair will be expected to conduct scholarly research, teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, and interface with Discovery Chair as well as the Chairs affiliated with the other Centers of Economic Excellence. Working with clinical faculty within Darla Moore School of Business, the Innovation Chair is expected to provide guidance to Chairs affiliated with Centers for Economic Excellence as well as other faculty on matters relating to commercialization, intellectual property, new ventures, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The Innovation Chair should have a Ph.D. in Economics or a Business-related discipline, a distinguished scholarly record, significant applied expertise, and the ability to collaborate across diverse units within USC. The Innovation Chair’s tenure home will be in an academic department in the Moore School of Business. Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Development and the Dean of the Darla Moore School of Business, the Director of Development will build, manage and steward a major gift portfolio benefiting the School with an emphasis on major gifts, both current and future. Identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors, including individuals, foundations and corporations; provide stewardship for assigned donors; assist in maintaining prospect tracking information in Millennium and other central databases. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and seven (7) years relevant program experience, or a bachelor's degree and nine (9) years relevant program experience. Preferred Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree from accredited college or university. Three or more years of successful higher education or related fundraising/development experience. Thorough knowledge of principles and methods of planning and conducting a comprehensive fundraising program. Ability to establish good working relationships with faculty, alumni, donors, volunteers, businesses and the general public. Willingness to travel as required by the geographic location of donors/prospects. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends, as necessary. The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a senior position in Marketing at the rank of professor, beginning August 2012. Eligible candidates must have a Ph.D. in marketing or related field. Candidates currently holding the rank of professor or those with excellent publication and teaching records at the rank of associate professor are encouraged to apply. Preferred candidates will demonstrate a sustained record of publication in top journals and high-quality instruction at undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. levels. We are seeking applicants with strong theoretical and methodological skills that can be applied to important questions at the intersection of marketing and public health (broadly defined). Prior success publishing health-related work in top-tier journals is ideal, but not essential. The successful candidate would work closely with our excellent doctoral students, collaborate with other members of our highly productive research faculty and lead bridge-building efforts with faculty in public health, pharmacy and medicine. Some involvement in outreach efforts to the public and private health communities in the State of South Carolina is also desirable.
A competitive annual salary and benefit package is available to support this position, including a substantial start-up research budget. Teaching loads and summer support would be competitive with other top-level marketing departments.

The Sonoco Distinguished Visiting Professorship in International Business brings to the University of South Carolina a renowned senior scholar, or other suitably qualified individual, who has achieved prominence and recognition in the area of international business. Suitably qualified experience would include positions such as: senior executive in business, senior executive in an international institution (e.g. World Bank, OECD), or high ranking government official. Applicants from outside the U.S. are encouraged.
The Sonoco Distinguished Visiting Professorship is supported by an endowment fund created by Sonoco Products Company, a global leader in the manufacturer of consumer and industrial packaging products and provider of packaging services, with approximately 300 operations in 35 countries, serving customers in 85 nations. The endowment will support a professorial stipend, housing, travel, and/or a research budget based on the nature and duration of the proposed activities. The scheduling horizon is 2011-2015 and the appointment time period is flexible but is normally for one semester. The activities and responsibilities of the individual during the visiting professorship appointment may include developing joint international research activities with USC faculty, giving research seminars, teaching or guest lecturing on selected international topics, participating in executive education activities, and advising local business executives.
The professorship resides within the Sonoco International Business Department of the Darla Moore School of Business. The current faculty in the department are: Nancy Buchan (Wharton), Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra (MIT), Randy Folks (Harvard), Omrane Guedhami (Laval), Tatiana Kostova (Minn.), Chuck Kwok (UT), Gerald McDermott (MIT), Robert Rolfe (OU), Kendall Roth (USC), Martin Roth (Pitt), Andrew Spicer (Wharton), and Annique Un (MIT). The department is recognized for its contributions in innovative international business programs at USC, including an undergraduate international business major, joint undergraduate international business program with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, international master in business administration, master of international business, a global executive program in Guadalajara, Mexico, and an international business major at the doctoral level. The undergraduate international business program has been ranked No. 1 for the fourteenth consecutive year.
