Supporting Documentation Checklist

Academic Transcripts
Applicants for degree programs must submit official transcripts (in sealed envelopes) from each institution of higher education attended (except from the University of South Carolina). We do not accept electronic versions of transcripts, nor do we accept transcripts that have been opened or unsealed. Transcripts must be submitted by the application deadline. For transcripts issued in a foreign language, an officially translated version must be submitted. Transcripts should be submitted directly to the Darla Moore School of Business.

GMAT and GRE
Applicants must provide a valid (five years or fewer) GMAT score or Graduate Records Examination (GRE) to be considered for admission.  Most programs will accept either, while the Economics department prefers a GRE score. Please use the appropriate code to ensure test scores are sent directly to the University of South Carolina. The institutional/program code for the Moore School program for GMAT scores is JV2 and for GRE scores is 5818.

Attention GRE Test-Takers

Educational Testing Services (ETS) will re-launch the GRE® starting in August 2011, resulting in the delay of GRE® score reports. Therefore, applicants who take the GRE® revised General Test between August 1-November 18, 2011 will receive their score reports based on the following special score reporting schedule instead of the regular 10 – 15 day reporting period:

Computer-Based revised General Test Dates Approximate Score Report Mailing Dates
August 1, 2011 – September 8, 2011 November 8, 2011
September 9, 2011 – October 2, 2011 November 10, 2011
October 3, 2011 – October 15, 2011 November 17, 2011
October 16, 2011 – November 18, 2011 December 1, 2011

After December 2011, score reporting for the computer-based test will return to the regular reporting period of 10 to 15 days after the test date.  Score reports for paper-based administrations will continue to be reported six weeks after the test date. Therefore, applicants wishing to enroll in the Fall 2011 term will need to take the GRE® before August 1, 2011 or take the GMAT®. Also, applicants applying for the Spring 2012 term who wish to have their completed application reviewed before December are strongly encouraged to take the GRE® before August 1, 2011, or take the GMAT®.  For further information, please visit the ETS website at http://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/know

Letters of Recommendation (2 required)
The Moore School requires at least two letters of recommendation, although an applicant may submit additional letters. Please note an individual department may request more. We encourage applicants to submit their letters online through our application system. Hard copy letters of recommendation should be written on company/organization letterhead, and include the official signature of the writer. Letters should comment on your academic or professional qualifications.

TOEFL or IELTS
International applicants who do not hold a degree from a U.S. institution must also submit a valid (two years old or fewer) test score demonstrating their command of the English language. The institutional code for the Darla Moore School of Business is: 5818.
