As a scholar-practitioner, Dr. Iarossi uses her experience, networks and knowledge to further entrepreneurship research, to develop and support aspiring managers, leaders and entrepreneurs, and to strengthen the bond between the business and academic community.
Beginning in engineering consulting and with an early stage technology company, Dr. Iarossi’s career includes more than 20 years in commercial banking and wealth management driving capital to businesses, building investment portfolios and turning around troubled businesses. She has used the insight gained from these experiences to advise, mentor and serve on the board of early stage organizations, as well as those in transition as they adapt to a rapidly changing business and economic environment. Dr. Iarossi has also co-developed programs for entrepreneurial education and is an active angel investor and co-founder of an angel network of businesswomen in Atlanta. In addition, she has used her understanding of the financial markets to engage in the areas of microfinance and impact investing.
Although her primary research focus has been new venture emergence, particularly in technology driven organizations, Dr. Iarossi has also conducted qualitative case study research on corporate sustainability as a strategy for innovation and growth in established organizations.
