The Master of Accountancy (MACC) program is a natural extension of study for students who have completed an undergraduate degree in accounting. However, it is open to anyone who satisfies the school's admission standards regardless of their undergraduate major. The MACC program provides the opportunity to specialize in a particular field of accounting, complete the professional examinations while in school, and meet the specific educational requirements to qualify for the CPA designation in some states. Students who have not completed an undergraduate degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may need to take prerequisite courses as well as the program courses.

Recruiting is facilitated both through the honorary accounting organization, Beta Alpha Psi, and through the Office of Career Management, as well as through the help of faculty in the School of Accounting. Placement for our students, though consistently high, varies based on their background. Historically, domestic students who attend and graduate from a four-year institution in the US have close to a 100 percent placement rate. Placement rates for international students vary based on the student’s background and academic profile. Those students who have attended and graduated from a four-year institution in the US in combination with the MACC degree at the Moore School have historically had a better chance for domestic job placement. Due to immigration laws and market conditions, those students who have completed an undergraduate degree outside of the US in combination with a MACC degree at the Moore School have encountered greater challenges with domestic hiring.
