Biography
Robert A. Leitch is a professor of accounting and holds the Friends of Accounting -
Donald H. Cramer Professorship in Accounting at the University of South Carolina Moore School of
Business. He received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University, master's degree from Carnegie
Mellon University, and Ph. D. from the University of Tennessee.
Dr. Leitch's primary teaching interests are management accounting and accounting information
systems. He has coauthored two books in accounting information systems and in management
information systems.
Dr. Leitch's research interests include information system development, cost management
systems, analytical review procedures, and statistical sampling. He has published articles in
various journal including
The Accounting Review,
Journal of Accounting Research,

Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory,
Management Science,
Journal of the American Statistical Association,
Biometrica,
Decision Sciences,
Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis,

Dr. Leitch has been a faculty member at the University of Georgia, the University of Alabama
and Virginia Tech. He has been a visiting faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University. In addition
he has been the Associate Dean of the College of Business at the University of Georgia and Director
of the School of Accounting at the University of Alabama.
