Biography
Ron Wilder is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Economics at the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, where he has taught courses in managerial economics, government and business, and health economics. He earned a B.A. and M.A. in economics at Rice University, and a Ph.D. in economics at Vanderbilt University. Wilder's research and consulting interests are currently focused on health economics, forensic economics, and industrial economics. In health economics, he is studying economic aspects of diabetes and physician compensation. In forensic economics, he consults with attorneys in the area of valuation of economic losses, antitrust, and regulation of business. His current interests in industrial economics include the regulation and deregulation of the electricity and telecommunications industries. He has published a number of articles in economics journals, including the American Economic Review and the Journal of Health Economics.
