A list of various Professional Development activities is provided below, along with appropriate contact information to register to participate. Sign up today!
These panel events are held over lunch and are designed to provide interested students an overview of various business career paths, and how those careers may differ by industry. Each panel consists of 4-5 employer representatives who have experience and/or expertise in specific functional areas. Ideally, various industries are represented. Lunch and learn events occur at 12:45pm on the dates listed below and last for approximately one hour. Specific topic areas are listed as well. These events provide employers an excellent opportunity to meet students in a casual environment, while presenting information about their specific organizations.
The Moore Networking Reception is a true teaching event, preceded by a series of seminars where students learn various networking techniques. The Reception provides a venue for students to practice what they have learned. Employer participants serve as networking targets, and our asked to provide feedback to students at the conclusion of the event. The Reception is catered and held after hours at a local Columbia facility. This setting provides an ideal environment for employers to get to know Moore graduate students and gain access to them outside of the formal interview process. This event is scheduled to take place in September (date TBD). Please contact Georgia Doran, Office of Career Management Associate Director, at gdoran@moore.sc.edu if you are interested in participating.
The etiquette luncheon allows employers to gain exposure to Moore students within the setting of a business lunch. As with the Moore Networking Reception, the Etiquette Luncheon provides an opportunity to interact with Moore students outside of the formal interview process. In addition to formal dining etiquette training, employers are asked to mock interview the students seated with them during the meal, similar to what might occur as a second round interviewing event. A time for direct feedback is provided at the conclusion of lunch. This event will take place in September (date TBD). We have conveniently scheduled the Moore Networking Reception the evening before this event, allowing interested employers to attend both. Please contact Georgia Doran, Office of Career Management Associate Director, at gdoran@moore.sc.edu if you are interested in participating.
