Recruiting Methods

Post a Job

We are determined to meet employers wherever they are in the recruiting process.  Therefore, we have various processes to assist you in accessing our talented students. Our e-recruiting software, custom-named USC JobMate, facilitates this for you:

On-Campus Recruiting

Interviewing:  Traditional method for employers to visit campus personally to meet pre-selected candidates using the following steps and ideal timeline:

--4 weeks prior to interview date, students view your job descriptions as posted via our software, USC JobMate.

--3 weeks prior, resumes of students who have applied for YOUR position(s) are sent to you via e-mail.

--2 weeks prior, you let us know names of candidates you wish to interview and students sign-up for timeslots.

Standard 45-minute schedule = 9 interviews per day
Standard 30-minute schedule = 13 interviews per day

--YOUR on-campus date ! ! !

Interviews begin at 8:30 a.m. unless a different start time is requested.

In addition, as recruiting budgets tighten, employers may also effectively use telephone or video-conference screening.

Information Sessions/ Receptions(Most common types)

Interest-Generating Sessions
 - This type of information session/reception is usually scheduled 4-5 weeks prior to an on-campus interview date. The purpose is to introduce your available positions to targeted students.  This is especially important in creating campus awareness, if on-campus recruiting has not occurred in the past.

Pre-Interview Sessions - Many employers prefer to conduct information sessions/receptions the night before an interview date. This helps you tell your story one time, so interview time is better spent on the candidates.

To schedule your on-campus recruiting event , please  click here, create an account (pre-paid/free of charge to you) or log-in to your existing account  and complete our On-Campus Recruiting Request or contact Leanne Mallach at Leanne@moore.sc.edu or by telephone at 803-777-1762.

Moore School Career Expo

The Office of Career Management at the Moore School of Business is hosting its annual  Moore School Career Expo on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, in Columbia, South Carolina.  This networking event provides employers an opportunity to meet students from the nationally-ranked IMBA program as well as the  master’s level students in human resources and accounting.

Employers are able to
  • learn about the programs
  • meet students in a "career fair" setting
  • conduct information sessions
  • interview candidates for internships and full-time positions
  • meet our faculty and staff

All employers benefit from attending, even those who currently have no job openings. This talented group of students is worth meeting, even if used only as a future talent source.

Click here to register. You will be redirected to
USC JobMate where you can RSVP to attend.*

* To register for the Moore School Career Expo, you will  first need to create a USC JobMate account (pre-paid/free of charge to you) or log-in to your existing account and click on "Job Fairs & Events", then "Career Events List".  You will see "Moore School Career Expo" there.

Resume Collections

We know it is not always feasible to schedule an actual visit to campus.  In these situations, we invite employers to request a Resume Collection.

To request a resume collection/post your available position(s) , please  click here, create an account (pre-paid/free of charge to you) or log-in to your existing account and complete our "Non On-Campus Recruiting" Request (Non OCR) or contact Leanne Mallach at Leanne@moore.sc.edu or by telephone at 803-777-1762.

Positions are posted in our on-line recruiting system,  USC JobMate and students "apply", if interested.  Resumes are downloaded and sent to you in one bundle or candidates can reply directly to an e-mail address or URL, whichever you prefer.

Resume Searches

Another method of talent sourcing is the Resume Search. This involves building a search for current students and alumni who meet your specific requirements.  You can create an account in  USC JobMate, from which unique searches can be conducted, such as concentration area, unique skills sets, language proficiency, and other criteria and resumes may be downloaded.  If you prefer, we can complete this search on your behalf.  For more information, please contact Leanne Mallach at Leanne@moore.sc.edu or by telephone at 803-777-1762.

In summary, please know that our primary objective is to provide superior service while accommodating the specific needs and requests of our valued employers. We look forward to partnering with YOU as you source your leadership talent for the future.
