International Students

Upon your arrival on campus, please check in with the International Student Services Office  which is located in the Byrnes Building on the corner of College and Sumter Streets. You should plan to arrive by the last week in June.  Please refer to your individual schedule for pre-orientation week activities and orientation week activities.

English Language Proficiency

English is the language of instruction in the IMBA program and foreign students are expected to be proficient in English. Prior to enrollment in the IMBA program, foreign students whose native language is not English are required to take an English diagnostic test administered by the English Program for Internationals. The results of this test and an interview of the PhotoCon07_Peoplestudent by a member of the EPI staff will be used to determine the student's level of English language proficiency. Based upon this evaluation, a course of study will be recommended for those students who have demonstrated inefficiencies in oral communication and/or reading skills. Students for whom a course of study is designed are required to begin the recommended English course during their first semester of graduate study in the Moore School and complete the course of study by the end of their second semester of study. The International MBA program requires foreign students have a level on the TOEFL such that additional English courses are rarely required.
