Incoming IMBA Student Information

Bem-vindo a Columbia!

Congratulations on your decision to attend the International MBA at the Moore School of Business with the Portuguese language specialty.

You will begin your program of study with core business course training here on the USC campus in Columbia. Upon arrival, you will also initiate the process for your study abroad. It is important that you have a passport valid six months beyond August 15th for visa purposes in order to study in Brazil. If you do not currently have a passport, please apply for one immediately. If there are no empty pages in your passport, please apply for additional pages.

As a "Portuguese Tracker", you will begin your program of study with the summer II semester. For the IMBA program, that date is early July. We begin that week with manadatory orientation during which you will hear presentations from key faculty and staff, and conduct Career Management activities, among other things. 

The IMBA  Office will communicate registration information to you. You should pay fees and receive financial aid according to instructions provided on this site using the above Quick Links.

As you get settled in Columbia and begin your core classes, you will start the process of obtaining a visa for Brazil. It is most imporant that you have photos of yourself and be aware of the fees associated with applying for a visa. As countries around the world are taking precautions, it is becoming quite common that a visit in person to their contulate is required in order to obtain a visa. Please consult the website of the Consul General of Brazil so that you plan and budget accordingly.

It is also important that you pace yourself with classes and opportunities to learn about Brazil from students returning from their respective internships as well as participating with visiting companies on campus. Get ready for the exciting process of preparing to go to Curitiba, Brazil where you will study Portuguese and learn to do business in Brazil.
