Bio: I did my undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in Utah. After my freshman year at BYU I traveled to Panama where I learned the Spanish language and got a taste for what life would be like living outside of the United States. Upon my return I elected to pursue a degree in International Studies with a minor in Business Management and Asian Studies. The decision to follow the Asian Studies path resulted from an opportunity I had to travel to China and teach English for a period of six months.
Following graduation I decided to stay in the area and found a job working as an account manager in the real estate and mortgage industries. I spent two years working in sales and marketing at this company before making the decision to return to graduate school.
My decision to come to the Moore School was simple. I was looking for an opportunity to improve my language skills and regional understanding of Asia as an integrated part of the core curriculum required to achieve my MBA. At the same time I was very interested in making sure that the core curricula had an international focus, something that I could apply while doing my internship abroad. The Moore School provided me the program that I was looking for. I have been in China now for six months studying Chinese after finishing my core curricula at USC and am looking forward to applying the tools learned in class to my internship that will begin in the next six months. Because Supply Chain Management is a new field for me, I am excited for my upcoming internship which will have this focus. At that time I hope to be able to better define which section of the supply chain I will want to work in, with the end goal of heading the regional supply chain management department for a MNC somewhere in Asia, preferably China.
Special Interests/Hobbies: I enjoy spending much of my free time with my wife and daughter. We enjoy hiking and swimming together. I also enjoy Chinese history and politics which I hope to learn more about while here. In addition, I enjoy all kinds of sports, most recently racquetball.
