Bio:
Hello, my name is Edilbek Konurbaev. I am a second year IMBA student in the Global
track, class of 2009.
My homeland is Kyrgyzstan, a country in the Central
Asia Mountains famous for its incredible natural beauty, mineral and water resources.
I am a current Fellow of the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate
Fellowship Program that provides graduate study opportunities for professionals from the Eurasia
region. My work experience: business consulting and international trade, transport and customs
development in Central Asia, Russia, China and Afghanistan. My undergraduate degrees are in Finance
& Credit and English & French studies from Osh State University in Kyrgyzstan.
Given my international trade facilitation and business development work background, I have considered it vital for my further career development to enroll at a U.S. MBA program that offers an excellent combination of prominence in international business disciplines, outstanding faculty and alumni, a distinct curriculum and diverse student body, which I consider the Moore School of Business IMBA Program to be.
The second year of the IMBA Program is focused on enhancing your knowledge and skills in the selected concentration through the offered elective courses. My 5-month internship this spring / summer was in the operations management area at Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America in Peachtree City, GA. The internship was preceded by global business issues studies and the immersion course in Vienna and Prague.
I plan to apply the knowledge gained at the Moore School of Business IMBA Program in my career as an international trade and business consultant upon return to my homeland. My country is in great need of a strong but liberal government and turnaround managers to develop and implement economy stabilizing and development programs.
Special interests/hobbies/skills:
I enjoy playing soccer and horseback riding. I am fluent in Russian, Kyrgyz and English.
