Bio: After graduating with a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I served in the Peace Corps for two years as a high school English teacher in Mozambique, which is located in Southern Africa. Upon returning to the United States, I found a job as a distribution specialist at a growing retail/finance company and really liked the challenge and fast pace of a business setting. At that point, I decided to investigate MBA programs, specifically those with an international component that would compliment my previous experiences. I chose to attend the Moore School of Business because of the global focus of its coursework, the international character of its faculty and student body, and its innovative language track programs.
As a member of the Arabic track, this January I will begin a year of Arabic training, with one semester in Morocco and one in Jordan. My study abroad will be followed by an internship in the Middle East, which will give me valuable skills for the job market. I am very happy to have chosen the Moore School of Business, and I am confident that my Moore education will help me to achieve my long-term career goal - to act as a consultant for developing nations hoping to attract investment, as well as multinational firms planning to enter into emerging markets.
Special Interests/hobbies/skills: I love learning languages and speak Spanish and Portuguese fluently, as well as a little bit of Shangaan, an African language. In my free time, I enjoy Latin dancing, swimming, film, and hanging out with my IMBA classmates, whom I have found to be an extremely fun, open minded, and interesting group of individuals.
