Dr. David Hudgens is the Associate Director of the International MBA Program at the Moore School of Business. He joined the Moore School of Business in 1997.  Dr. Hudgens is responsible for advising and counseling students on matters related to career development in international business. He also directs exchange relationships with partner universities and internship programs throughout Asia and Europe.  

Dr. Hudgens has been involved in economic development and international education since the early 1990s. He has lived and worked in Hohhot (Inner Mongolia), Harbin, Nanjing, Shanghai and Beijing in China while researching the development of China’s private sector. He regularly works with multinational companies in human resource strategies and business development in East and Southeast Asia as well as in Europe. His previous research has focused on the dynamics of family business and entrepreneurs in Asia, specifically addressing values and social networks in formal and informal associations as they influence business and organizational development strategies.

Dr. Hudgens received his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston (1987) and completed post-graduate programs at the University of Connecticut (1991) and Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies - SAIS (1995). He received his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh (2001) where he specialized in cultural anthropology with a focus on economic development and educational systems in Asia. Dr. Hudgens teaches in the South Carolina Honors College and he is also a candidate in the Education Specialist Program (EdS) in the Department of Educational Psychology and Educational Studies at USC's College of Education.
