Biography

Robert E. Ployhart is an Associate Professor of Management & Moore Research Fellow in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.  He is also the Academic Director for the Master of Human Resources program. He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University and M.A. from Bowling Green State University.  His research focuses on staffing, personnel selection, recruitment, staffing-related legal issues, and applied statistical models such as structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling (HLM/RCM), and longitudinal modeling.  Rob has published numerous articles in outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and International Journal of Selection and Assessment.  He has also coauthored two books;Staffing Organizations with Ben Schneider and Neal Schmitt, and Situational Judgment Tests with Jeff Weekley.  

Rob is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Psychology, and has previously served as an invited Editor for Organizational Research Methods and an invited Associate Editor for Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. He has served on the editorial boards of six scientific journals. Rob received the Best Paper Award in 2006 from the Journal of Management, and has received other awards from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Human Resource Division of the Academy of Management.  His research has been funded by both private and public organizations.
