GSCOM Merit Scholarship Information


To: All Moore School Undergraduate Students

The Center for Global Supply Chain and Process Management is pleased to announce up to 15 awards of $1,500 each for the GSCOM Merit Based Scholarships

The Center for Global Supply Chain and Process Management at the Moore School of Business will award merit based scholarships to students who have declared “Global
Supply Chain and Operations Management” (GSCOM) as their major.  Up to 15 scholarships valued at $1,500 each, may be awarded.  The award money will be given toward the semester in which students enroll for the Capstone GSCOM Project Course (MGSC 497).  The full value of this scholarship will be considered as part of the student’s financial aid package for the semester in which it is awarded.

To be eligible, candidates must have completed, or be enrolled in MGSC 395 at the time of application, and have a cumulative GPA at USC of at least 3.0.  They must submit a formal scholarship application (copies available in the Undergraduate Office – 2nd floor; Management Science Department Office – BA 715; and on the link on the Management Science Department's section of the Moore School of Business Web site:  Click here for online application .  

Outstanding scholastic achievement (GPA), and an interest in supply chain and operations management as evidenced by internship, work experience, and/or extracurricular activities will be considered in awarding the scholarship.  High academic performance must be sustained throughout the GSCOM program to maintain award eligibility.  Award winners will be expected to serve as role models and GSCOM program’s ambassadors to internal (fellow students) and external constituencies (employers and professional societies).

Interested students must submit their completed application via the online application form (link above) or  through mail; in person; e-mail to Ms. Julia Witherspoon in BA – 715 (e-mail: moton@moore.sc.edu) no later than April 30, 2008.  A faculty committee in the Management Science Department will make the final scholarship award decisions and communicate them to the successful candidates by May 31, 2008.
