About the Moore School of Business
Since 1919, innovation has been the key to the success of the University of South Carolina's Moore
School of Business. The school has a history of keeping pace with the ever-changing global market
through a blend of academic preparation and real-world experience. By emphasizing internships,
consulting projects, study abroad programs, entrepreneurial opportunities, and ethics, the school
has earned international recognition.
Moore School of Business is a large, complex, and comprehensive business school with more
than 3,900 students in its undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. Its 36,000 living alumni
are the successful products of nine undergraduate majors or concentrations, five master's degree
programs, and two Ph.D. programs. More than 160 faculty and staff are involved in teaching,
research, and service to the community. The nine-story building houses several research centers, a
networked computer facility, state headquarters for the Small Business Development Center, an
Executive Education Center, the Elliott White Springs Business Library, the Japan Business Library,
and two interactive television classrooms. Both the Moore School of Business and the School of
Accounting are accredited by AACSB International-The Association for Advancement of Collegiate
Schools of Business, the recognized international accrediting association for business schools.
Moore School of Business has achieved international recognition through innovative program
development and quality research done by its excellent faculty and talented staff and students. A
few of its recent achievements are listed below.
- Ranked #1 or #2 in the nation for international business for 19 consecutive years by
U.S. News & World Report's annual
survey of "America's Best Graduate Schools," and the #1 public University in this specialty. Since
1974, the school has offered an International MBA program with emphasis on language and cultural
studies, combined with overseas internships. Moore has updated its program to include a Global
Track, with a focus on political and economic factors affecting the investment climate of various
regions throughout the world, with the same significant internship as the Language Track.

U.S. News & World Report 's August
2007 survey of "America's Best Colleges" ranked Moore School of Business #1 in its undergraduate
international business specialty for the 11th year, and 41st among the nations's top business
schools, and #24 among public business schools.
- The
Financial Times of London ranked Moore
School's MBA-level programs 55th among the world's top 100 in its special edition, January 28,
2008.

The Wall Street Journal ranked the
school 49th of 51 national schools in a "Regional Ranking" and 9th worldwide for the excellence of
our international business program, September 27, 2007.

BusinessWeek October 2006 ranked Moore
School 3rd among schools for "fastest return" on an MBA students educational investment .

The Economist Intelligence Unit
included our MBA #67 among its top 100 worldwide in October 2007.
- In March, 1998, Moore School became the nation's first major university to name its business
school for a woman, honoring USC alumna and business executive Darla Moore. Ms. Moore's combined
gifts make Moore School the beneficiary of the largest private donation ever to a U.S. business
school.
