The University of South Carolina has maintained its designation as a Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) since the program’s inception in 1989 and has a long and successful history of funding and supporting international business research. As one of 31 universities designated as CIBERs, the University of South Carolina CIBER (SC CIBER) has assisted the Moore School’s Sonoco International Business Department faculty in becoming the most prolific international business research department in the U.S. for many consecutive years.

SC CIBER Working Paper Series
Since 1989, SC CIBER has supported the publication of more than 200 research papers, and will again devote a substantial portion of its new four-year grant award toward additional research initiatives, primarily in the areas of interaction between multi-national corporations and institutional environments, micro-finance, interaction of global business and homeland security issues, and African business and US-Africa business relations. Throughout this publication you will read about several of the CIBER-funded projects conducted by Moore School faculty.

Undergraduate Study Abroad
SC CIBER supports several Moore School undergraduate study abroad course offerings including Doing Business in Europe, Doing Business in Africa, and Doing Business in China.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Outreach

Outreach through Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops
The SC CIBER supports and assists the Executive Education Center of the Moore School of Business as it promotes and offers a wide variety of public and private seminars and workshops for regional and state businesses and organizations.
