David Splittgerber, BS '92, MACC ’93, has joined a Columbia-based
geriatric care management and consulting firm as co-owner and chief operating officer, and is
helping to expand the company’s services. The firm, Senior Matters Extended Services, is an
expansion of Senior Matters Consulting, Inc., founded in 1997 by co-owner Mary Katherine
Bagnal.
The expanded services now include in-home services. The company continues to offer 24/7 on-call geriatric care management as well as consultation and assessment of everyday needs from care coordination to long-term care arrangements. New services include trained and supervised companions who perform daily household tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, medication reminders, and shopping.
The new service will “integrate into our mission,” Splittgerber said, “which is to provide peace of mind to older adults and families.”
Splittgerber has more than 17 years of experience in the senior living and accounting industries. For the past five years, he was vice president of finance for Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, which operates five continuing care retirement communities and a hospice agency in South Carolina. He is a Certified Public Accountant and also an active member of the South Carolina Association for Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
