Brazil was the destination in mid-March for Dean Joel A. Smith III and Louis Dessau, associate director of Moore’s International MBA program. The duo represented the school at an IMBA alumni reunion in Rio de Janeiro March 12, then visited the city of Curitiba and Moore’s partner institution, ISAE/Fundacao Getulio Vargas, March 13-15. During the visit, Smith, Dessau, and Moore students studying Portuguese at our partner school were received by the mayor of Curitiba. The group also met with the president of the Parana Chamber of Commerce and the Curitiba City Council. At the council meeting, Dean Smith’s wife, Kit Smith, a member of Richland County Council in Columbia, South Carolina, was invited to address the Curitiba council members.
