Celebrating a successful family fund campaign


Moore School Family Fund CampaignMoore School faculty and staff celebrated their participation in a successful 2004-2005 family fund campaign with a thank-you reception for faculty and staff.

Moore School faculty and staff had a 62% participation rate in the USC Family Fund, a 22% net increase over last year. The amount raised was a 90% increase over last year. In addition, 58 faculty and staff joined the Moore School Dean's Circle, an increase of 48 members over last year.

"It's a good sign when your won employees contribute so generously," said Robert H. Gayle, Jr., Moore's director of development.

The Family Fund is a campus-wide effort to get faculty and staff to provide financial support for various University of South Carolina programs. Of the 15 degree-granting colleges and schools on the USC-Columbia campus, plus the graduate schools, the Moore School ranked:

  • 2nd overall in terms of overall dollars raised. (The College of Arts and Sciences was 1st.)
  • 2nd in terms of donations per capita. (The School of Law was 1st.)
  • 3rd in percentage of employees (62 percent) who donated. (The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management was 1st, the College of Education was 2nd.)
  • 3rd in amount of money donated per capita. (The School of Law was 1st, the School of Medicine was 2nd.)
