The Business & Economic Review, a publication
of the Division of Research at the Moore School of Business, has received a
Notable State Documents award for 2004 from the
South Carolina State Library. The B&E
Review was one of only 10 publications from all across state government to
be recognized. The magazine previously received the award in 1999. This marks
the 15th year the State Library has selected publications for this recognition.
Noting that March 16 has been designated Freedom of Information Day in South
Carolina, State Library Director Jim Johnson, Jr. remarked, “As librarians, we
take our First Amendment rights very seriously. As we celebrate Freedom of
Information Day, I salute South Carolina state agencies that continue to make
their information available to the public, either in print form or
electronically. The agencies honored today continue the tradition of open
government in the Palmetto State.” Jan Collins (on right in photo) serves as editor and Gail Crouch (left)
as assistant editor of the quarterly magazine, which covers business trends and
other stories of interest in the state and region. They received their award
March 14 at the S.C. State Library in Columbia.
