Staff changes for 2006 academic year

Poindexter Becomes Assistant Director, MHR and MACC Programs

Tina Poindexter is the new Assistant Director of the Master of Human Resources (MHR) and Master of Accountancy (MACC) programs at the Moore School. She is responsible for recruiting students, coordinating the admissions process, and supporting the MACC and MHR managing directors in administration of the programs.

Poindexter is the former director of programs for the Executive Education Center at the Moore School, where she was responsible for coordinating the center's public, custom, and rental programs.  She has been employed with the Moore School for 13 years and is a past recipient of the Susie H. VanHuss Staff Award. She holds a BS in administrative information management and an associate's degree in office administration from the University of South Carolina. Poindexter is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and also earned a Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte in 2003. She resides in Lexington with her husband, Jim, and their 8 year-old twin daughters and 2 year-old son.

New Hires, Other Changes

Suzanne Axland is the new Marketing Communications Manager for the IMBA Program. She was formerly Marketing Communications Supervisor at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and prior to that was Managing Writer, Marketing Communications, at Colonial Supplemental Insurance. She also formerly served as a proposal writer in USC's Central Development Office. She earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies and a master's in journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Axland enjoys the weather in South Carolina and fixing up her new home in Columbia where she lives with 13-year-old son, Eric.

Beth Busby recently became Corporate Relations Coordinator for Graduate Career Management. Busby previously served as administrative assistant in the Moore School Development Office for seven years. She is married to Bob Busby, and they have two children, Claire, 17, and Janson, 13. Latest favorite saying: "When your kids seem to need you the least is when they need you most."
    Victoria Custodi is the new IMBA Recruiting Manager for the IMBA Program. She is an alumnus of the Moore School (MIBS '02, Italian Track) and was previously employed as a marketing manager for L'Oreal USA and Maybelline in New York. She currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is busily planning her November wedding in Orvieto, Italy.

Trish Jones is Student Services Coordinator for the IMBA program, replacing Carolyn Foster who recently retired. Jones earned a BS in public administration from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa, and an MA in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. Jones has been a stay-at-home mother (of two children, Aubri, age 5, and Colton, age 11/2) and held part-time administrative positions, including work with a community college for six years, serving as academic advisor/counselor, business manager, and instructor. Her husband, Richard, is in the U.S. Army and will retire in two years. Jones is pleased to have relocated to Columbia (where she and her family previously lived from 2000-2004).

Melinda Neeley Poore is the new Administrative Assistant in the Moore School's Development Office. Poore received an associate degree in information technology from Midlands Technical College and worked as an accounts manager for Lexington Women's Care prior to joining USC in the Central Development Office in 1990. She is married to Christopher Poore, a consultant with the State Budget and Control Board, Human Resources, and they have an 11-month-old son, Christopher "Tanner".

John Whittle accepted the position of Administrative Assistant in the International MBA program in August. Whittle graduated from USC in December 2005 with a major in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism from the College of Hospitality, Sport, and Retail Management. He was employed part-time in the Dean's Office and Alumni Relations at the Moore School from 2001-2003.
