Remembering Business Students Lost in Fire

Dean Hildy Teegen and dozens of faculty, staff, and students took a silent "Walk to Remember" November 1 at 4:00 p.m. to honor the memory of four business school students who perished in a fire at an Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, home October 28.

Participants walked from the steps of the Moore School to the Russell House, where a memorial was created in honor of the seven students -- six from USC and one from Clemson -- who were killed in the fire. Students carried a banner, signed by members of the Moore School community, to place at the site. A moment of silence was held at the memorial.

The four business school students – sophomore Justin Anderson, sophomore Travis Cale, freshman Lauren Mahon, and freshman Will Rhea, have been fondly remembered by friends, family, and the University community. The University has created a Webpage, http://www.sc.edu/forevertothee/, in their memory and that of the other three students – freshman Cassidy Pendley, sophomore Allison Walden, and Clemson sophomore Emily Yelton.

(We appreciate the help of employees at USC Printing Services and alumnus and fraternity brother Bryson Jenning at Cosmic Printing for special help in getting the banner prepared.)
