IMBA Student Awarded NSHMBA Scholarship

Rollins_JamesJames Rollins, a second-year International MBA (IMBA) student at the Moore School, was recently awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA).  Rollins is a 2006 Darla Moore Fellow and also received a 2006 NSHMBA scholarship.

Rollins served five years in the U.S. Navy before entering the IMBA program. A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, he earned an undergraduate degree in finance from Virginia Tech, and prior to joining the Navy, was a consultant in the Office of Government Services with Arthur Andersen in Washington, D.C.

While in the Navy, Rollins lived and worked abroad in Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador and developed a "working" command of Spanish.  He is in the IMBA Spanish Track, and his business focus is marketing.

Rollins interned this summer with Turner Broadcasting System in Mexico City.  He recently wrote, "This has been a really great experience where I learned a great deal about the television industry in Latin America.  I think that I would like to pursue a career in mass media/television once I finish my MBA."
