Moore senior wins Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award

Rachel Marriner, a senior at the Moore School majoring in insurance risk management, was a winner of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award presented April 20 at the University of South Carolina’s Awards Day ceremony.

The award is the university’s highest honor to a graduating senior and is given annually to the top male and female student whose academic achievement, leadership, and service contributions have impacted the university. The award is named after the 19th-century New York lawyer and philanthropist and is given to students annually at 54 U.S. colleges and universities.

Marriner is a native of Columbia. The male winner of the 2006 Sullivan Award is Justin Williams of Wagener, South Carolina, an Honors College senior.
