Undergrad Working at White House

Mary Elizabeth Mullikin, an undergraduate business major from Camden, South Carolina, may be missing campus life this semester, but she is experiencing the opportunity of a lifetime as a White House intern on President Bush’s Advance Team.

Mullikin’s job is to help with all travel logistics for the President and his press and staff who accompany him. “This includes hotel rooms, meals, setting up stages, flights, press set-ups, etc.,” Mullikin says. “The Advance Team plans for any time that the President leaves the White House.”

Mullikin’s internship will continue through early December. A sophomore, she also studied Chinese this summer in Beijing and is considering international business as her major.
