According to the Moore School of Business and national statistical trends, managing a career from cradle to grave is very different than it was 10 years ago. The employer/employee relationship is much more transient, hence the individual must take total ownership over his/her career. Today’s graduate will likely work for 10-plus companies and have seven-plus careers over his/her work life span. Less than half of MBA graduates receive jobs from on-campus interviews. Through the LHH/Moore partnership, however, career management tactics proven in the post-graduate and corporate world will allow students to be much more effective and competitive
“With a more competitive global climate for jobs, this program is meeting a major need driven by students as well as the economy,” said LHH General Manager Gail DePriest. “Not only does career management need to begin in college, it should be an ongoing discipline--for individuals to adjust their training and skills based on their chosen industry and related market fluctuations.”
The Moore School of Business and LHH will also be offering career services to alumni in fall 2004.
