South Carolina Family Business Forum

Family businesses face unique challenges.  They must confront all the traditional issues of operating a business, as well as address family concerns such as perpetuating family values, promoting harmony between active and inactive family members, succession planning, wealth transfer, and compensating and retaining non-family managers.  How do you prepare your family and your company for the transition of management from one generation to another?  This challenge has overwhelmed the majority of all privately owned family firms in the country.  If you are seeking answers to such questions, apply today for membership in the South Carolina Family Business Forum (SCFBF).

The South Carolina Family Business Forum includes several corporate sponsors that provide both informational and financial support to the Forum and to members who operate family-owned businesses - whether just starting out or already fully operational.  The Forum provides a positive, solution-oriented environment where family members can discuss challenges, opportunities, and aspirations with a carefully selected group of peers.  By providing an atmosphere conducive to open communication among family members, the Forum plays an important role in gaining family commitment to the process of succession and strategic planning.  Based upon the belief that experience is the greatest teacher, members learn from one another through opportunities to network and share problem situations and their problem-solving strategies.
