Applicants for undergraduate business scholarships should complete the Undergraduate Scholarship Application for New Applicants or the Undergraduate Scholarship Renewal Application and submit it to the BA Scholarship Committee c/o BA Undergraduate Division, Room 201.

RENEWAL applications are due by 5 p.m. February 1.
NEW applications are due by 5 p.m. February 1.
Late applications will NOT be considered.

• RENEWAL APPLICANTS: Current recipients of BA scholarships (2007-2008 academic year) must reapply to be considered for the 2008-2009 academic year. Scholarships are not automatically renewed. Submit the Undergraduate Scholarship Renewal Application by 5 p.m. February 1.
  
  
• NEW APPLICANTS: Please read the instructions and submit the Undergraduate Scholarship Application for New Applicants by February 1. Scholarship funds for new awards are competitive and limited. Students receiving awards are expected to have high GPAs and exemplary records of achievement. If you have previously received a scholarship from the Moore School of Business, your academic record will be verified and qualified renewals will be honored. If you have been referred to this site to complete a Renewal or New application for scholarship, you are applying for scholarships within the Moore School of Business only. Other scholarships may be available through USC's Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. Additional information is available at http://www.sc.edu/financialaid/
  
  
• ENTERING FRESHMEN: Entering freshmen do not need to complete the Undergraduate Scholarship Application. Entering freshmen who have been accepted to the University of South Carolina and have expressed an interest in majoring in business will be considered for available business school scholarships for which they meet the criteria. Notification of any awards will be mailed to the recipient(s) in April.
  

Applicants for scholarships awarded by the BA Scholarship Committee may review the list of available scholarships found on the school’s Web site. You will be reviewed for all scholarships for which you may be eligible. Applicants requesting the renewal of a scholarship received for the 2006-2007 academic year should use the Undergraduate Scholarship Renewal Application. The number and amount of scholarships awarded vary and are subject to funds available. In each of the past several years the BA Scholarship Committee has awarded scholarships to approximately 100 students. Unfortunately, scholarship funds were not available for many other qualified and deserving students. The majority of BA scholarships are based on academic achievement. The average scholarship recipient has a minimum 3.8 GPA.

Recipients will receive a letter indicating whether they have been awarded a scholarship or not.  Students who have been selected for scholarships will be notified in the letter of the name of the scholarship they have been awarded and the award amount. The letter will be mailed in May to the permanent address listed on the recipient’s scholarship application.

In accordance with University scholarship policies, non-resident students who receive academic scholarships of $250 or more per semester qualify for reduced tuition. The rate is determined annually by the USC Board of Trustees. The amount of tuition reduction for the out-of-state student is contingent on actual tuition costs.

To assure consistency and equity, the BA Scholarship Committee has adopted the following policies:

1. Recipients must be full-time students enrolled in the Moore School of Business on the Columbia campus.
   
   
2. Priority will be given to students who have earned at least 15 hours at USC-Columbia.
   
   
3. Academic merit is the primary consideration. Certain scholarships may include other selection criteria, such as major, residency, or financial need.
   
   
4. Recipients who transfer from the business school to another college lose their business school scholarship.
