Wachovia Scholars Program

Business at Moore Summer Camp


WSBAM07_02This coming summer, June 20-26, 2009, Wachovia Bank and the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business will invite 30 high-achieving high school juniors from  under-represented groups to participate in the third annual Wachovia Scholars Business at Moore summer program. This program brings students to campus for one week, enabling them to discover the many opportunities available in business. It also gives the students a chance to meet other high school students from throughout the state, as well as current Moore School of Business students and faculty.  

Thanks to our sponsor, Wachovia Bank, this program is available at no cost to the student. Through the program's classes and activities, the student will have the opportunity to:

In addition to attending business classes and working on a group project, the students experience dorm life and some of the entertainment venues near campus.  During previous summer programs, students got a taste of the local restaurants including Lizard's Thicket and Shane's Rib Shack and let off steam at the AMF Park Lanes bowling alley and Frankie's Fun Park.

Students who attend the Wachovia Scholars Business at Moore summer program and enroll in the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, are eligible for a renewable four-year Wachovia Scholars Scholarship.

2009 Wachovia Scholars Business at Moore Schedule Dates:  Saturday, June 20 through Friday, June 26, 2009

The deadline for student applications to the 2009 Wachovia Scholars Business at Moore summer program was Friday, March 13, 2009.  Please check back in December 2009 for information about the 2010 summer program.  

RESIDENTIAL COUNSELORS NEEDED!  We are still in need of residential counselors for the 2009 WSBAM summer program.  The program runs from Saturday, June 20 through Friday, June 26, 2009.  Preferred candidates are a sophomore or above who is a major or minor in business; however, all candidates will be considered.  A complete description of the job resposibilities, along with an application and permission for background check form can be found at the attached links.  In additional a flat rate salary for the week, all meals and entertainment for the week are provided.  This is an excellent opportunity to give back to the University community!  Please call Cynthia Parker at 777-0170 to set up an interview!
