Curriculum

The Professional MBA program is 48 credit hours (16 courses, 3 credits each) and has no prerequisite course work. The 10 core courses build a fundamental business knowledge base. Real-world business situations are discussed using models and problem-solving tools presented in the classroom.

The curriculum requires six electives. Three to five electives are offered each term. Elective offerings include blended learning formats, modified class meeting times, and a week-long study abroad learning experience. Click on Electives for a detailed list.

ACADEMIC SCHEDULE

The PMBA program academic schedule is three 12-week terms and one 6-week term per calendar year. In a 12-week term, each course meets once a week from 6:00 p.m. to 8:20 p.m. In the 6-week term, courses meet two nights per week. Saturday classes are held on the USC-Columbia campus every three weeks. For students taking two courses in a 12-week term, one course meets on Saturday morning and the second course meets that afternoon, following a lunch break.  The 2011 PMBA Course Schedule and 2012 PMBA Course Schedule may be viewed as a PDF for detailed information about the class schedules.
