Interviewing provides a traditional method for employers to visit campus personally to meet pre-selected candidates using the following steps and ideal timeline:
The standard 45-minute schedule = 9 interviews per day. A standard 30-minute schedule = 13 interviews per day. Interviews typically begin at 8:30 a.m. unless a different start time is requested. In addition, telephone interviewing and video conference screening are available.
The Darla Moore School of Business's Office of Career Management hosts an annual BusinessExpo each fall in Columbia. The event is open to qualified juniors and seniors as well as graduate students. More than 700 graduate students and undergraduate students attended BusinessExpo, with over 150 recruiters from 80 employers participating, last year.
This networking event provides employers the opportunity to meet students from the nationally ranked IMBA program, master's level students in human resources, international business and accounting, and experienced candidates from our Professional MBA program. Employers will also meet qualified undergraduate students, including those enrolled in the nationally ranked undergraduate international business program.
Interest-Generating SessionsThis type of information session/reception is usually scheduled 4-5 weeks prior to on-campus interviews. The purpose is to introduce your available positions to targeted students. This is especially important in creating campus awareness if you have not previously recruited at the Moore School.Pre-Interview SessionsMany employers prefer to conduct information sessions or receptions the night before an interview date. Information sessions allow you to tell your organization's story one time, so interview time is better spent on candidates.
