Risk Management & Insurance

Risk Management and Insurance focuses on methods of developing financial protection against loss with emphasis on insurance principles, solving risk management problems, and socioeconomic security programs. This major has become a greater focus for the Darla Moore School of Business over the last several years as companies have increasingly faced more challenges around the globe.  

Scholarships

There are a number of insurance scholarships available for undergraduate students majoring in risk management and insurance and in actuarial mathematics. Applications for the 2012-13 academic year are due on February 24, 2012, and can be downloaded here.

In a study of American business schools by professors from the University of Georgia, University of Illinois, and Southern Methodist University, the Moore School ranked 2nd nationally in terms of research productivity in the field of insurance.
