Biography
Rodney L. Roenfeldt is a Professor in the Finance Department of the Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. He served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2000 - 2007 and as Interim Dean of the Moore School from September 1999 to September 2000. He was department chair for Banking, Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate from 1985 to 1999. Dr. Roenfeldt received a bachelor of science degree with a major in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1967, an MBA with a concentration in finance from Michigan State University in 1968, and a doctoral degree with a major in finance from Indiana University in 1972. He is past president and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Financial Management Association, past president and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Eastern Finance Association, and past president of the Southern Finance Association. He has received the Alfred G. Smith, Jr. Excellence in Teaching Award, the Alpha Chapter of Mortar Board Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Capstone Area Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Roenfeldt has published papers on topics such as master limited partnerships, management buyouts, capital structure, bankruptcy, and closed-end funds. Articles on these and other finance topics have appeared in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Financial Research, Financial Management, and numerous other journals. He is a former co-editor of the Journal of Financial Research and currently serves as an associate editor of the Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics. Education
