David Baker

David Baker is a multi-platinum award-winning recording and mixing engineer. His credits include Billie Eilish, Big Sean, Public Enemy, Alessia Cara, John Legend, Logic, Aloe Blacc, Lil Dicky, Hollywood Undead, Blues Traveler, Lil Durk and The Voice, among many others. His credited works have collectively sold over 25 million albums and singles.

Mr. Baker has over 25 years of experience in the music industry. As an artist, he was signed to Los Angles-based label Beverly Martel Records, releasing and touring behind an EP and full-length album. He worked for independent label Chamberlain records in A&R. From there, Mr. Baker began to engineer and produce music in Los Angeles where he worked extensively with both independent and label artists, engineered for 4 seasons for NBC’s The Voice, recorded multiple musical segments for the Tosh.0 show, toured with John Legend recording a west coast run of live shows, and performed live on The Jimmy Kimmel Show alongside artists Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), Michale Fitz (Fitz and the Tantrums), Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra), Tyler Glenn (Neon Trees) and Lisa Loeb. 

As a writer and composer, Mr. Baker has had songs featured on television show and in films such as Turner and Hooch (Disney), Ginny & Georgia (Netflix), the NBA Finals (CBS Sports), Kevin From Work (NBC), Mayweather vs McGregor (Showtime), Spy (20th Century Fox Films), and more.

In 2019, after over a decade working in Los Angeles, Mr. Baker moved his operations to his home state of South Carolina so his kids could grow up closer to family. He continues to work with an array of major label artists, independent label artists and independent artists as a mixing engineer.

Mr. Baker previously taught recording and music management classes in the Media Arts program at the University of South Carolina and has returned to his alma mater to continue to teach classes in audio engineering, production and the music business in the Music Industries Studies program at the School of Music.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, smoking BBQ and Gamecock football.

Mr. Baker holds a BA degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina (2000). He is currently working on his MA in Media Arts (2024).
